I have had my 2015 XR 700 limited for about 15 months now and it has around 850 miles. The mods that are done to it are 28" silverbacks 10" wide in the front 12" wide in the back, stock exhaust mod and clocked my secondary. With the big tires the quad feels a little under powered but that will be taken care of later this month with clutch kit. I will start with the things that I like about the machine. The ride is really good and it handles very well not tippy at all. Clearance is also very good around 15.5" to the skid plate with the stock springs up all the way. Could probably fit 29.5/30" tires. The factory LED headlights on the limited are awesome for night riding. The gear shift always moves really easily and never gets hung up However the emblem beside the gear shift that shows where the gears are doesn't line up with where the gears actually are. Not a big deal for you once you get used to it, but it seems to confuse people when they first get on it. Now the bad. At around 250 miles. I had to replace the brake pads all the way around which seems to be about normal for the kind of riding I do. Around 300 miles I had brake issues again, the machine lost all braking. Turned out my master cylinder had failed. Now from what I could find there was no rebuild kit available so I had to purchase a new one. Was a relatively easy fix only took about 10 minutes to change and another 10 minutes and a helper to bleed the brakes. The next issue I had was with my headlights and front grill area plastic. The headlights on these machines have a quick pop out side so that they do not get damaged if you run into something. Which is a good thing because a new LED headlight is over $800 (cad). What happened with mine is the plastic that holds the quick release broke. This meant that the entire front grill plastic had to be replaced. So I have spent around $500 (cad) in parts that have broke in 850 miles, and to be clear it has not had an easy life the majority of the miles are hard, hard miles. They usually end up with someone getting towed back. All in all I really like the machine and it has performed very well. The only thing I wish it had was a little more power.

Mine has done about 10.000km so far. Likeable machine. Still first belt and fist brake pads, but I don't do al lot of heavy off road driving. I don't use the brake levers much, because of the engine brake. 700 gets to 90 kph very quick, but there is not much left after that. To me the power is enough. Those LED are awesome, but man they are expensive.

It's a road machine, think how many miles you put on your car/truck. That's a pretty reliable cat.

I wouldn't do a whole clutch kit, stick with just lighter rollers.. I just went through this with my XR 550 and took the whole clutch kit out besides the rollers.. reclocked my secondary to B3.. best setup so far in my opinion..

What didn't you like about the full clutch kit? I really am wanting a more power right off the line to try and turn these big tires quicker in the mud.

When you engage your quad it doesn't move right away until you hit a higher rpm and that was horrible for getting up my ramps into my truck.. I almost put it though my back window a couple times.. it also adjusted the power band to where I thought I lost a lot of power going to 26's.. when I took the wet springs out and left the lighter rollers in and reclocked to b3 I felt all my power was back in a real sweet spot and couldn't tell that there was any power loss at all.. if you search the thread " clutching my XR" I had a bunch of questions that people answers along with advice and my experience..

Lighter rollers and reclock is what you'll want and I'm pretty sure you'll be happy.. stay away from the wet springs

700 is a fine engine. Fellow driver bought a used TRV 700 and drove 11000km in almost 11 months. Total for his machine is now 27099 km.

The TRV 700
Old speedo, so it does not show the 10.000 mark (in this case the 20.000)
